Kevin Alcántar serves as Program Manager at Turnaround Arts: California, where he champions community support and education equity through the arts. A multidisciplinary artist from South Central Los Angeles, Kevin holds a BA in Studio Art from UC Santa Barbara, with a background in painting, illustration, sculpture, photography, and filmmaking. Before joining Turnaround Arts, Kevin worked with MALDEF’s Parent School Partnership Program, empowering Latine parents to advocate effectively on behalf of their children within the school system. Aside from his experience in non-profits, Kevin is an indie filmmaker and producer whose projects have gone on to gain recognition including most recently being awarded a production grant from Art With Impact. Kevin’s passion for art is matched by his commitment to highlighting Los Angeles’ diverse communities and ensuring that equitable arts education is accessible to everyone.
