Turnaround Arts California Closing in August 2026

A statement from Turnaround Arts California’s Board of Directors:

Twelve years ago, Frank Gehry had a vision to inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation in students. This led to the creation of Turnaround Arts California, an ambitious program to harness the power of the arts to benefit students and build thriving, creative school communities.

We are proud of the achievements of Turnaround Arts California over the past dozen years, working with 36 public schools across the state and more than 37,000 students and teachers, but in the wake of the death of our co-founder, Frank Gehry, the Board has made the decision to sunset the organization.

We are grateful to the many generous donors, partners, and school communities who played an integral role in the numerous successes TACA achieved.
