Help California narrow the opportunity gap.

Turnaround Arts: California is a nonprofit organization established to administer Turnaround Arts, a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, statewide in some of California’s lowest performing elementary and middle schools. The program brings arts-based educational strategies to struggling elementary and middle schools to narrow the opportunity gap, increase student engagement, and improve campus culture and climate. Part of a national public-private partnership that leverages the arts to help turn around the nation’s lowest performing schools, Turnaround Arts: California is one of 14 localities from across the nation selected by the Kennedy Center and the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, the National Endowment for the Arts, and several private foundations.

All donations are used in compliance with the purpose of our charitable organization’s tax exemption, which is to bring high-quality arts education resources to underperforming elementary and middle schools and to help schools use those resources to narrow the opportunity gap, increase student engagement, and improve the culture and climate in the state’s struggling schools.
